New Delhi (Sputnik): In India, general cultivation, consumption or possession of cannabis, cocaine, and opium is prohibited under the Narcotics, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. However, the use of cannabis is allowed for medicinal and research purposes.
A Russian national was arrested in India’s Himachal Pradesh state on Monday while allegedly carrying over 1 kg of hashish during a bus journey.
